Municipal Stadium Miejski, Wrocław - UEFA Euro 2012

Miejski City Stadium in Wroclaw, Poland, (Polish: Stadion Miejski we Wrocławiu) is the fourth-highest category of football (soccer) currently being built stadiums for the UEFA European Football Championship 2012. The stadium will be completed in June, 2011, and will have a seating capacity of 42,771 spectators.
JSK won architectural concept developed by Architekci called STADIUM-LANTERN. Typical shape was chosen to be easily recognizable and associated with a dynamic city.

Stadium shape is highlighted by the innovative design of the external wall. The building will be covered by glass fiber mesh coated with Teflon. Mesh will be anchored by a steel ring is placed around the body throughout the stadium. Covers will lend a light and transparency in large structures. Outside the stadium wall color can be changed by using a sophisticated lighting system.

Concession stand will be located under the semi-transparent facade.

Architectural concept also includes the promenade outside the room around the stadium, called the esplanade. The esplanade will provide access to the stadium from two directions. From the south, it will lead under Lotnicza Street where a Park & Rise integrated plaza is being constructed with tram stops, train stations, and outdoor parking). From the north, the esplanade will lead from the north exchange of public transport by tram and bus stops and parking lots for buses.

The area around the stadium and the esplanade will be beautiful and equipped with benches to create a park-like space where people can relax or meet.
