UEFA announced Thursday, 9 June 2011, that it has reached an exclusive Italian Radio, RAI broadcasting rights to all 31 matches of UEFA EURO 2012™, Italy.
RAI covers the matches live around the canals of Rai Uno, Rai Due and to complete its offer for packet transmission programs and magazine shows that provide a complete free telecast of the tournament in Italy. In addition, RAI will offer complete Internet and mobile services are live and on-demand basis. RAI also acquired the media rights for the 2011 UEFA Under-21 Championship.
Commenting on the deal, Guy-Laurent Epstein, Director of Marketing Events SA, UEFA, said:
